Stadium Metro Station Overview
Stadium is the G15 station on the Dubai Metro Green Line, in Zone 5. It sits between Al Nahda (G14) and Al Qiyadah (G16), serving Rashid Stadium, Al Mulla Plaza and the surrounding residential blocks of Al Qusais 1.
The station takes its name from the nearby Rashid Stadium, home ground of Shabab Al Ahli football club. On matchdays it carries the heaviest loads of any Green Line stop between the airport and Union, with trains kept at a tighter spacing to clear the crowds after full-time.
First and last train from Stadium Station
These times come from the official RTA timetable. For the exact minute on the day you travel, the RTA S'hail app is the live source.

Stadium Station opening hours and facilities
Stadium station keeps the standard RTA opening hours, the same right across the network:
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Stadium has the standard Dubai Metro facilities, confirmed in the official RTA passenger guide. The station is step-free, with lifts to all levels, tactile guidance paths, and dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train. Nol card machines and a ticket counter sit inside the concourse, alongside bilingual signage and information screens. Du Wi-Fi covers the network.
Every regular train carries three cabin types: Gold Class at one end, a Women and Children cabin with pink signage, and Standard cabins. Door pictograms on the platform show where each cabin stops. The station has at least one bus connection, dedicated Metro Police, CCTV throughout, and emergency call points on every platform and train.
On matchdays, platform crowds build up for about 90 minutes after full-time. If you can tolerate a 15-minute wait, let the first two trains leave and board a later service for a seat. The RTA keeps trains running at tighter frequencies around big fixtures, so the wait rarely goes above about 20 minutes even in peak crush.
Rashid Stadium and the Shabab Al Ahli crowd
Rashid Stadium is the station’s defining neighbour and the reason the stop is called Stadium rather than something more neighbourhood-specific. The ground is the home venue of Shabab Al Ahli, a club formed under a 2017 Ruler of Dubai decree that merged Al Ahli, Al Shabab and Dubai Club into a single entity. Gulf News covered the merger decision at the time, noting it reduced the Arabian Gulf League to 12 teams. Rashid Stadium has also hosted international fixtures including matches at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup and the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.
Capacity for ordinary league games is around 8,000, with temporary stands lifting it to over 12,000 for international tournaments. The RTA keeps a tighter train frequency on Green Line services around match times, with a visible uptick in both platform staff and taxi availability outside Exit 1 on evenings when Shabab Al Ahli play. For visiting football fans, this station is the first stop to look for in a Metro planner app rather than the generic nearby area search.
Al Mulla Plaza, one of Dubai’s first shopping centres
Al Mulla Plaza, across Damascus Street from the station, is one of the oldest shopping centres in Dubai. Industry retrospectives date the complex to around 1978, which makes it one of Dubai’s first large mixed-use shopping centres. It still carries the Almulla Group identity.
The plaza also houses the Dubai Police Museum, which opened on 19 November 1987, and remains open to visitors as part of the Dubai Police heritage collection. The combination of a 1970s mall and a 1980s museum gives this corner of Al Qusais an older character than the Metro timetable alone would suggest, with the station a convenient drop-off for anyone exploring the retail history of early Dubai.
For a Dubai Airport Terminal 2 connection, Bus C10 and Bus 31 run from the stand outside the station. The ride is around 15 to 20 minutes and AED 3 on the same Nol card. Abu Hail (G17) two stops south is marginally closer to Terminal 2 but the bus connections from Stadium are more frequent during the daytime.
Fares from Stadium Station
Fares depend on how many zones your trip crosses, not how many stations you pass. A Silver Nol card costs AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones, and AED 7.50 for three or more zones, per the RTA Nol fares page. A personal Blue Nol card pays the same as Silver. Gold Class costs double: AED 6, 10 or 15 across the same bands.
Without a Nol card, the Red ticket is a separate, higher tariff of AED 4, 6 or 8.50 by zone band, and the blank ticket costs AED 2 to buy. Children aged five and under travel free, and travel is free for People of Determination.
