Al Qusais Metro Station Overview
Al Qusais is the G12 station on the Dubai Metro Green Line, in Zone 5 beside Al Nahda Road in the Al Qusais residential district of north-east Deira. The platforms sit elevated above the road, with the main entrance on the west side feeding bus bays and the taxi rank.
The station is one stop south of Etisalat by e& (G11), the northern Green Line terminus, and one stop north of Dubai Airport Free Zone (G13). Al Qusais Pond Park is a short walk away, and Al Bustan Centre sits on Al Nahda Road a few minutes further on. For travellers heading to Union or BurJuman for a Red Line change, the Green Line runs direct through this stop every few minutes at peak.

Al Qusais Station opening hours and facilities
Al Qusais station keeps the standard RTA opening hours, the same right across the network:
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Al Qusais has the standard Dubai Metro facilities, confirmed in the official RTA passenger guide. The station is step-free, with lifts to all levels, tactile guidance paths, and dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train. Nol card machines and a ticket counter sit inside the concourse, alongside bilingual signage and information screens. Du Wi-Fi covers the network.
Every regular train carries three cabin types: Gold Class at one end, a Women and Children cabin with pink signage, and Standard cabins. Door pictograms on the platform show where each cabin stops. The station has at least one bus connection, dedicated Metro Police, CCTV throughout, and emergency call points on every platform and train.
Walk to Al Qusais Pond Park by taking Exit 1 and following Baghdad Street for about 10 minutes. The park has a 2 km jogging loop around the central pond, outdoor gym equipment and separate play areas for younger and older children. It gets busiest at sunset and in the hour after Iftar during Ramadan, so a mid-morning weekend visit is calmer.
Al Qusais Pond Park, a short walk from Exit 1
Al Qusais Pond Park is the station’s main local draw, a short walk south of Exit 1 along Baghdad Street. Khaleej Times reported in January 2009 that Dubai Municipality was finishing an AED 26.78 million project on the site, covering 17 hectares in three segments, with a 2 km jogging track three metres wide looping the central pond and separate play zones for children aged 2 to 5 and 6 to 12. A fenced beach volleyball ground, outdoor gym equipment, shaded sitting areas and a service building with a restaurant and changing rooms rounded out the brief.
The park opened later that year and remains one of Dubai’s quieter community parks, popular with families from Al Qusais and Al Nahda through the cooler months. Coloured water fountains in the pond and ambient lighting around the perimeter run most evenings. It also sits on Dubai Municipality’s wider list of pond parks that spans Al Barsha, Al Nahda, Al Qusais, Al Quoz and Al Khawaneej 1, all built to a similar community-park template.
Al Bustan Centre: a Qusais mall from the 1990s
Al Bustan Centre, about 10 minutes on foot from the station along Al Nahda Road, pre-dates most of Dubai’s modern mall stock. The complex has operated as a mixed-use site since 1997, pairing a four-storey shopping arcade of more than 80 shops with a hotel-residence block and a food court above a central atrium. In a 2009 Trade Arabia report the centre added eight new stores covering womenswear, accessories, home decor, linen and perfumes, part of a steady pivot to everyday retail for the surrounding residential blocks.
The centre’s draw is pricing on day-to-day goods rather than fashion brands. For Al Qusais residents, it is often the first stop for school uniforms, kitchenware and basic electronics, which is why foot traffic is more evening-steady than weekend-peak. The food court includes a long-serving McDonald’s that pre-dates most of the newer Dubai outlets.
Al Bustan Centre is the easier shopping option from this station: around 10 minutes on foot along Al Nahda Road, with a mix of over 80 shops, a food court and a hotel-residence block in the same complex. Prices on everyday goods undercut the larger Deira malls, which is why many Al Qusais residents still shop here rather than taking a bus to City Centre Deira.
Fares from Al Qusais Station
Fares depend on how many zones your trip crosses, not how many stations you pass. A Silver Nol card costs AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones, and AED 7.50 for three or more zones, per the RTA Nol fares page. A personal Blue Nol card pays the same as Silver. Gold Class costs double: AED 6, 10 or 15 across the same bands.
Without a Nol card, the Red ticket is a separate, higher tariff of AED 4, 6 or 8.50 by zone band, and the blank ticket costs AED 2 to buy. Children aged five and under travel free, and travel is free for People of Determination.
